“All six participants shared experiences at work that adversely affected their mental health. These situations were often related to their Queer identity and either the discrimination they experienced, the fear they had, or the situation negatively impacting them. Furthermore, some of the participants shared how the same situation eventually had a positive impact on their mental health. In these two instances, both teachers ended up being more out about their Queer identity, through their appearance and actions, and felt at ease with being out at work” (Asperillia, pp. 109-110).
